Oil & Gas

EEIG has been involved in the oil & gas market since its inception as a downstream service facilitator. We provide services to upstream providers in the fields of asset/brand marking and in the security of supply, surveillance and monitoring of pipelines.

Oil & Gas Markers

EEIG works together with a global fuel markers provider in delivering solutions that effectively combats fuel adulteration, dilution and smuggling. To prevent these illegal and potentially harmful activities, we design a custom-tailored solution including proprietary fuel markers and analyzers unique to each programmeme.

We understand how to engage with Governments and Oil Companies to ensure authentic products are sold in-country to benefit law-abiding citizens – not criminals. Fuel marking solutions enable governments to collect more excise taxes without raising taxes for the benefit of citizens and legitimate industries.

A fuel marking programme starts with the addition of unique markers to various fuels. Fuel samples are gathered from any point of national distribution networks including retail stations; and analyzed to identify the source of the fuel, and to check if the correct amount of marker is present. The programme is managed using a modular set of integrated software applications designed to enable the successful deployment and operation of an authentication programme. These modules enable customers to manage all parts of the programme – marking fuels, taking samples, performing field and lab testing, and reporting on the programme’s results.

A dedicated programme Manager is assigned to support each programme, ensuring success as the programme evolves.

Brand Protection for Fuels

EEIG fuel authentication solutions help oil companies achieve their revenue targets for branded and differentiated fuels by illuminating the supply chain to identify both intentional and unintentional fuel manipulation.

An effective solution uses fuel markers and analyzers, which can accurately identify minimal levels of dilution at any point in the supply chain. Typically, when the additive package is blended into a fuel, a very small amount of a unique marker (at concentrations lower than one part-per-million) is also added. In circumstances where the blending of a marker to an additive package is not possible or practical, it can be added at the terminal via manual addition or through automated injection systems.

Beginning with the manufacturer of the proprietary additive package, differentiated and branded products are monitored through the supply chain to the fuel terminals, then through the transport network, and eventually reaching each retail fuel station. The intent is to verify how petroleum products are sold. Because even minimal dilution of a fuel can be detected, Authentix is able to monitor the entire supply chain, ensuring the proper branded fuel is being delivered to the station and to the consumer.

With 20 years experience and over two trillion liters of fuel authenticated, our team can offer a number of best practices for a successful fuel authentication solution. The processes and procedures that go into a fuel marking programme are custom-tailored to the unique requirements of each oil company via an interactive programme design phase, followed by implementation and ongoing operations, including continuous process improvements.

Regular programme reviews and audits ensure the solution is meeting or exceeding its stated objectives and return on investment.
